Basic White Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. warm water
    2 pkg. yeast
    1 3/4 c. lukewarm liquid (3/4 c. scalded milk and 1 c. water to cool)
    7 to 7 1/4 c. sifted flour
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. soft shortening
Preparation
    Combine yeast with 1/2 cup warm water; add lukewarm liquid, stirring to dissolve.
    Stir in half of flour and remaining ingredients.
    Beat until smooth.
