Ingredients

1 c. butter
2/3 c. sugar
1 egg
2 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream butter, sugar and egg.
Combine flour, salt and vanilla and add to creamed mixture. Chill dough for 4 hours before rolling on a floured board.
Cut out cookies in desired shapes from dough and bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
Decorate as desired.
