Ingredients

2 c. raisins
2 c. chopped dates
2 c. water
2 sticks oleo or 1/3 c. applesauce and 2/3 c. oleo
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
nuts (if desired)
Preparation

Cook the raisins, dates and water for 5 to 6 minutes.
Add oleo.
Cool.
Beat in eggs and vanilla.
Sift in flour and baking soda.
Add nuts, if desired.
Drop by teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake 12 minutes at 350\u00b0.
Makes 48 small cookies.
