Ingredients

1 c. softened margarine
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. pecans, chopped
1/2 c. coarsely crushed chips
1 egg white, slightly beaten
Preparation

Cream the butter and 2/3 sugar until fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Fold in rest of ingredients (excluding egg white).
Place 2-inches apart on greased baking sheet. Roll dough into small balls. Flatten with fork in 2 directions.
Brush with egg white and sprinkle with remaining 1/3 cup sugar.
Bake at 350\u00b0 until done (approximately 15 minutes).
Makes 4 1/2 dozen.
