Ingredients

2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. butter
1 tsp. almond extract
1 egg yolk
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
about 36 whole, blanched almonds
Preparation

Sift flour, sugar, salt and baking powder into large bowl. Cut in butter.
Beat egg with 2 tablespoons water and extract. Add to flour.
Knead dough on floured surface.
Refrigerate 1 hour in waxed paper.
