Pickled Beets - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. vinegar
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. water
    1 tsp. salt
    1 or 2 tsp. mixed spices
    Red food coloring
Preparation
    Wash beets, boil until done.
    Peel and slice.
    Put in all ingredients and boil beets until hot.
    Put in jars and seal. Makes 3 or 4 pints.
