Ingredients

1 c. melted shortening
1 c. molasses
2/3 c. brown sugar
1 c. buttermilk
4 c. flour (more, if necessary)
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Mix shortening, molasses, brown sugar and buttermilk.
Add flour, soda, cinnamon, ginger and salt.
Drop from teaspoon.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
While still warm, frost.
(Butter frosting probably the best.)
