Apple Apricot Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2/3 c. boiling water
1 c. diced apricots (dried)
2 c. white flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. allspice
milk
1/2 c. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 c. apple, chopped
3/4 c. walnuts, chopped
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation

Pour boiling water over apricots and let stand for 15 minutes. Remove apricots from water and add milk to the water to make 2/3 cup in all.
Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, salt and allspice.
Cream together the sugar and shortening.
Beat in the egg.
Add dry ingredients alternately with the liquid.
Fold in fruit and walnuts.
Spoon into a greased and floured 9 x 5-inch pan.
Bake in a preheated 350\u00b0 oven for 1 hour.
Cool on rack.
