Ole' Spoon (Or Batter) Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/4 c. sweet milk
    2 lb. butter, melted
    2/3 c. corn meal
    3 eggs, separated
Preparation
    Heat milk to scalding; add melted butter and salt, then slowly stir into cornmeal.
    Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly (do not allow mixture to get too thick).
    Add more milk if necessary. Remove from heat and let cool, then stir in well-beaten egg whites and pour into a hot, greased four cup casserole.
    Bake in a moderate oven (375\u00b0) for 35 to 40 minutes.
    Serve hot with plenty of butter.
    Makes 5 generous servings.
