Pumpkin Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 3/4 c. sugar
    2/3 c. shortening
    4 eggs, well beaten
    2 c. pumpkin (one 16 oz. can)
    2/3 c. water
    3 1/3 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    2 tsp. soda (scant)
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. ground cloves
    2/3 c. chopped nuts
    2/3 c. dates and raisins
Preparation
    Cream the sugar and shortening. Add eggs, water and pumpkin. Mix well. Sift dry ingredients. Add to pumpkin mixture, just enough to mix well. Add dates, raisins and nuts.
    Bake in floured and greased loaf pans at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour. Test with a toothpick in center of loaf.
    If it comes out clean with no dough clinging to it, the bread is done.
    Otherwise bake until done.
    Check often.
