Ingredients

1 egg
1/3 c. brown sugar
2/3 c. molasses
1/3 c. melted shortening
2 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
Preparation

Beat egg well.
Blend in sugar, molasses and melted shortening. Sift flour, soda, salt and spices together and add to first mixture.
Chill for an hour or more.
Roll dough about 1/4 inch thick on a lightly floured board.
Cut out.
Place on a greased baking sheet.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
