Grandma Dawson'S Vegetable Beef Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. ground beef
    2 qt. hot water
    2 c. diced potatoes
    1 c. diced celery
    1 c. diced carrots
    1/2 head small cabbage, chopped
    2 onions, diced
    1 can whole peeled tomatoes (15 oz.)
    1/2 c. frozen corn or 1 small can corn
    8 oz. can tomato sauce
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1/4 c. rice or barley
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Brown the hamburger (ground beef).
    Add the water; cover and bring to a full rolling boil.
    Add vegetables and bring to a boil again.
    Add rice or barley and salt and pepper.
    Cook 1 1/2 hours. Serves 10 to 12.
