Raisin Bread - English Style - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 c. flour
1 large yeast cake
3 c. warm water
1 Tbsp. sugar
2 c. melted shortening
2 1/2 c. brown sugar
2 c. warm milk
3 eggs
1 Tbsp. salt
3 c. flour
1/4 lb. each: citron, orange peel, lemon peel and candied cherries, cut up
3 pkg. raisins
3 c. nuts
2 (8 oz.) pkg. dates, cut up
2 tsp. nutmeg
3 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. allspice
Preparation
-
Mix together first 4 ingredients and let rise for 1 hour. Then add next 5 ingredients.
In another bowl mix all the fruits with 3 cups of flour and then add last 4 spices.
