Irish Soda Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (15 oz.) box seedless raisins
    4 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. salt
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 Tbsp. vegetable shortening
    4 tsp. caraway seed (optional)
    2 eggs, beaten
    2 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Cover raisins with hot water and let stand five minutes. Grease pan.
    Sift together dry ingredients.
    Rub in shortening with fingertips.
    Add caraway seed.
    Dry raisins with paper toweling and add.
    Mix beaten eggs and buttermilk lightly with fork.
    Stir into flour mixture to make a soft dough.
