Ingredients

1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/2 c. chocolate morsels (semi-sweet)
1 c. coarsely chopped pecans or walnuts
Preparation

Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
In small bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt; set aside.
In large mixing bowl, beat butter, sugar and brown sugar until creamy, 3 to 5 minutes.
Beat in vanilla and egg.
Gradually blend in flour mixture.
Stir in semi-sweet chocolate morsels and nuts.
Drop by rounded measuring tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
Let stand 2 minutes before removing from cookie sheets; cool completely.
Makes about 18 cookies.
