Polly'S Christmas Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. margarine
    2 c. brown sugar, packed
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    4 c. plain flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1 c. raisins
    1 c. orange slices, chopped
    1 c. candied fruit mix
    1 c. candied cherries
Preparation
    Mix shortening, sugar and eggs; stir in milk.
    Sift together flour, soda and salt; stir this into sugar and milk mixture. (Save back just a little flour to toss with fruit mixture to keep from sticking together.)
    Toss fruit mixture first (with flour), then stir everything together and chill at least 1 hour before baking.
    Bake 10 minutes at 375\u00b0.
