Date Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. boiling water
    2 c. pitted dates, cut up
    2 tsp baking soda
    1 1/4 c. raisins
    4 Tbsp soft butter or margarine
    2 c. sugar
    2 tsp vanilla
    2 eggs
    2 2/3 c. flour
    1 1/4 c. nuts
Preparation
    Pour soda and water over dates and raisins.
    Cream butter, sugar and vanilla, beat well.
    Add flour.
    Pour in dates and raisins including the water and nuts.
    Bake at 350\u00b0.
