Banana-Nut Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/3 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 3/4 c. sifted enriched flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 c. mashed ripe banana
1/2 c. broken walnuts or pecans
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and beat well.
Sift together dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture alternately with banana, beating well after each addition.
Stir in nuts.
Pour into well-greased 8 1/2 x 4 1/2-inch loaf pan.
Bake in moderate oven (350\u00b0) about 1 hour or until done.
Remove from pan.
Cool on rack.
Wrap; store at least 1 day.
