Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 c. rolled oats
1 c. coconut
1 1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation

Blend shortening with brown sugar and unbeaten egg; add rolled oats and coconut.
Mix well after each addition.
Sift dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture.
Add vanilla. Roll into little balls and drop on cookie sheet.
Flatten with fork.
Bake in 375\u00b0
oven for 12 minutes.
