Apple Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 c. shortening
1 tsp. salt
2/3 c. sugar
2 c. coarsely grated raw apples
2 eggs, well beaten
1 grated lemon peel
2 c. sifted flour
2/3 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in eggs.
Mix and sift flour and salt.
Add alternately with grated apples to egg mixture.
Stir in lemon peel and pecans.
Batter will be stiff.
Bake in greased and floured loaf pan, 8 x 5 x 3-inch at 350\u00b0
for 50 minutes.
Cool before slicing.
