Ingredients

3/4 c. granulated sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs, beaten
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. flaked coconut
1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugars together until well mixed.
Add eggs and stir until well blended; sift dry ingredients together and gradually add creamed mixture.
Stir in coconut, pecans and vanilla.
Drop on foil covered baking sheet by tablespoons, 1 inch apart.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
Makes 4 dozen large cookies.
