Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 3/4 c. plain flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 Tbsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar well.
    Beat in eggs and vanilla. Gradually blend in dry ingredients which have been blended together in a separate bowl.
    Chill dough 3 hours.
    Roll 1/8 to 1/4-inch thick.
    Cut with floured cookie cutters (or use confectioners sugar instead of flour to roll out your dough). Bake on ungreased cookie sheets at 375\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes. Makes 2 1/2 dozen.
