Ingredients

1/2 c. butter or oleo
1 c. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar; add vanilla and egg.
Beat until light.
Add sifted dry ingredients.
Chill for several hours or until firm enough to roll.
Roll 1/8-inch thickness.
Cut with floured cookie cutter.
Bake on cookie sheets in moderate oven at 325\u00b0 for about 8 minutes.
Cool on wire racks.
Frost with powdered sugar icing.
