Ingredients

2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/3 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
1 c. raisins
1 c. chopped apples
1/4 c. apple juice or cider or milk
Preparation

Mix dry ingredients.
Mix in liquids, then add apples, raisins and nuts.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
