Quick Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. chopped pecans or walnut meats
    2 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 egg, beaten
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. milk
    1 Tbsp. melted shortening
Preparation
    Place chopped nut meats in boiling water for 2 minutes.
    Drain well.
    Sift dry ingredients together.
    Combine milk, egg and shortening with nut meats.
    Add to dry ingredients and mix well. Pour into greased loaf pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for approximately 1 hour or until lightly browned.
