Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. chocolate syrup
2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
3 c. quick cooking rolled oats
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flaked coconut
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation

In a large saucepan, combine the butter, milk, chocolate syrup, sugar and salt.
Put the saucepan on the stove over medium heat and stir until the mixture is mixed well.
Bring to a boil and then remove the pan from the heat. Add the rolled oats, vanilla, coconut and chopped nuts.
Put waxed paper onto cookie sheets. Drop the batter from a teaspoon onto the waxed paper. Refrigerate for 1/2 hour.
Makes 4 dozen.
