Ingredients

1 c. Imperial margarine
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 tsp. water
3 c. Gold Medal flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation

Beat first 5 ingredients until light and fluffy. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; blend into creamed mixture.
Divide dough in half and chill 1 hour. On lightly floured surface, roll dough to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut in desired shapes with 2 1/2 inch cookie cutters. Brush lightly with milk. Sprinkle with colored sugar or decorations. Bake on greased cookie sheet at 375\u00b0 about 6 to 8 minutes. Cool slightly; remove from pan.
