Ingredients

1 c. Crisco
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs, unbeaten
1/2 c. pecans
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. soda
3 c. oatmeal
maraschino cherries, cut in quarters
Preparation

Mix first 5 ingredients in a mixing bowl.
Stir in nuts.
Sift flour with soda and add to first mixture.
Add oatmeal and mix well.
Shape dough into balls the size of walnuts and roll each ball in granulated sugar and place on a greased cookie sheet. Place 1 quarter cherry on each ball and bake at 350\u00b0 for about 10 minutes.
