T.J.'S Finger Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sticks butter
    1 C. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 sleeve saltine crackers
    12 oz. chocolate chips
    3/4 - 1 C. nuts, chopped
Preparation
    Melt butter and add sugar.
    Bring to a simmer, not stirring too much--till light brown at the edges.
    Add vanilla at the end. Prepare pan while this is cooking.
    Use cookie sheet with a lip--cover with aluminum foil.
    Coat with butter.
    Cover bottom of pan with saltine crackers.
    Pour sugar/butter mixture evenly over layer of crackers and spread to cover.
    Bake 5 minutes at 350 degrees.
    Top with chocolate chips after crackers come out of the oven.
    Chips will melt and you can spread them with a brush.
    Top with your choice of nuts.
    Press nuts down.
    Refrigerate for 1 hour.
