Ingredients

1 c. shortening (soft)
1 c. sour milk or buttermilk
1 c. sugar (white or brown)
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
5 c. sifted flour
1 c. molasses (light)
2 tsp. ginger (I use only 1)
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/8 tsp. salt
Preparation

Mix all ingredients together and roll out thick.
May be dropped by spoonfuls (use less flour).
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
