Date Filled Drop Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs, well beaten
    1 c. shortening
    1/2 c. warm water
    1 1/2 tsp. soda
    4 1/2 c. sifted flour
    salt and vanilla

    Dissolve soda in warm water.
