4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Sift, then measure the flour.
Sift again with the baking soda and salt.
Combine sugar, butter, eggs, vanilla and milk.
Then add the flour, beating it until smooth.
Place the dough in a covered bowl and chill in the refrigerator overnight or several hours.
Cut out a small amount of dough and place on a lightly floured board and roll thin.
The remainder of the dough can be left in the refrigerator until time for the next baking.
Bake on an ungreased baking sheet at 425\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
