Granny'S Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1 c. sugar
    1 large egg
    2 to 2 1/4 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar together.
    Blend in egg.
    Sift flour, baking powder and salt together and add to mixture.
    Add vanilla. Divide dough in 2 parts.
    Chill 1 to 2 hours.
    Roll dough 1 part at a time to 1/8-inch thick.
    Cut with cookie cutters.
    Keep other part of dough chilled until ready for it.
    Bake cookies at 375\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
    Yield:
    2 dozen.
