Ingredients

1 c. butter
1 egg, well beaten
2 c. sifted flour
1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Beat and add the egg; beat some more. Fold in flour, soda and salt.
Knead well adding more flour as needed to make a stiff dough.
Shape into rolls and refrigerate until thoroughly chilled.
Slice thin and bake on cookie sheet at 400\u00b0 for 8 minutes.
Makes about 3 dozen.
