Crispy Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter, softened
    1 1/2 c. confectioners sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. almond extract
    2 1/2 c. of plain flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cream of tartar
Preparation
    Mix first 5 ingredients.
    Blend in flour, soda and cream of tartar.
    Divide dough in half.
    Cover dough and chill for 2 to 3 hours.
    You may blend in food colors with one half of the dough to make stained glass designs.
    Roll dough to 1/8 inch thickness, and cut patterns from colored dough to place on top of cookies.
    Bake on lightly greased baking sheet.
    Bake in 375\u00b0 preheated oven for 7 to 8 minutes or until golden brown on edges.
