Cranberry Banana Nut Bread - cooking recipe

1 1/2 c. sugar
2/3 c. vegetable shortening
3 eggs
3 1/2 c. sifted self-rising flour
1 c. chopped nuts
1/4 tsp. baking soda
2 c. mashed bananas (4 medium)
1 (16 oz.) can whole berry cranberry sauce
Preparation

Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
Grease and flour a 12-cup Bundt pan; set aside.
Cream sugar and shortening with electric mixer in mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
Add eggs, blend well.
Add flour, nuts, baking soda and bananas; blend well.
Stir in cranberry sauce.
Pour into prepared pan.
Bake 1 hour and 10 minutes to 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool in pan 10 minutes.
Turn out onto wire rack to cool.
