Irish Soda Bread - cooking recipe

3 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. raisins
1 Tbsp. caraway seed
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
4 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Grease 2-quart casserole.
In medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Stir in raisins and caraway seed.
With fork, blend in buttermilk and melted butter until evenly moist.
Turn into casserole and cut an X or T on top.
Bake 1 hour and 10 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
It is advisable to check before time is up.
Remove and cool on wire rack.
