Lemon Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1/2 c. sugar
    grated rind of 1 lemon
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. lemon juice
    2 c. flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar together, then add lemon rind, eggs, one at a time, beating well after each is added.
    Stir in lemon juice, then sift in dry ingredients gradually.
    Beat well after each addition until you have a light and workable batter.
    Pour into buttered and floured 8 x 5 x 2-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 to 60 minutes.
    Turn out on a rack to cool.
    Serve with butter and preserves as a tea bread.
