6 oz. pkg. (1 c.) Bits 'O Brickle
1 1/2 Tbsp. liquid shortening
6 Tbsp. flour, unsifted
1/2 c. butter
6 Tbsp. sugar
6 Tbsp. packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. unsifted flour
Preparation

Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
In a small bowl mix Bits 'O Brickle with liquid shortening until evenly coated, then stir in 6 tablespoons flour until well coated.
Set aside.
In a large bowl, combine butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla.
Beat until creamy.
Beat in egg.
Gradually add salt, baking soda and flour.
Mix well. Stir in coated Bits 'O Brickle.
Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
Makes 50 (2-inch) cookies).
