Ingredients

2/3 c. shortening
3/4 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
4 tsp. milk
2 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation

Cream shortening, sugar and vanilla.
Add egg and beat until light and fluffy.
Stir in milk.
Stir together dry ingredients and blend in.
Divide dough in half.
Chill one hour.
On lightly floured surface, roll to 1/8-inch thickness.
Using circular cutter, cut out shapes.
Bake on greased cookie sheet at 375\u00b0 about 6 to 8 minutes.
Cool slightly; remove from pan.
Makes 2 to 3 dozen.
