Ginger Ball Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg, well blended
    4 tsp. molasses
    2 c. regular flour
    2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. each cinnamon and ginger (ground)
    1/2 tsp. ground cloves
    1/4 tsp. salt
    granulated sugar
Preparation
    Cream shortening with sugar in a large mixing bowl.
    Mix in egg and molasses.
    Sift and measure flour.
    Sift again with the soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves and salt.
    Stir the dry ingredients into the mixture in the bowl.
    Mix well.
    Shape dough into 1-inch balls and roll each one in granulated sugar.
    Place at least 4 inches apart.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for about 12 minutes.
    Remove from pan and cool.
    Makes about 4 dozen.
