Ingredients

1 c. flour
1 c. crisp cereal or wheat germ
2 c. oatmeal
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
1 c. shortening or margarine
2 eggs
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 to 1 1/2 c. chocolate chips
1/2 c. nuts (optional)
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl.
Blend with hands or large spoon.
Drop onto sheets, 1 tablespoon at a time.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until light gold.
