Bannock Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. shortening or oil
1/3 to 1/2 c. milk or water
small amount hot oil (for frying)
Preparation

Mix ingredients to form a dough.
Pinch or spoon an egg-size portion of the dough.
Flatten to a 1-inch patty on a flour-dusted plate.
Fry to a golden brown, turning once or twice.
Great with beef stew cooked over an open fire.
