Cookie Cutter Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg, beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add in egg and vanilla; mix well. Sift together dry ingredients and add in, mixing well.
    Chill at least 1/2 hour.
    Roll half of the dough on a lightly floured surface until 1/8 or 1/4-inch thick.
    The thinner you roll the dough the crisper the cookie.
    Cut into whatever shapes you like. Reroll scrapes.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 8 minutes until lightly browned. Cool on newspaper to absorb excess grease.
    When cool, frost as you like.
