Strawberry Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. butter or margarine
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 c. self-rising flour
1/4 tsp. soda
1 c. strawberry preserves
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Heat oven to 325\u00b0.
Grease bottom of an 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2-inch loaf pan.
Cream butter, sugar and vanilla and beat until fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Sift dry ingredients together.
Combine preserves and buttermilk and add alternately with flour mixture.
Beat until well blended. Stir in nuts.
Pour into prepared pan and bake for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours.
Cool in pan 15 minutes.
Cool completely.
Wrap loaf and store overnight in cool place.
Good served with strawberry butter.
