Ingredients

4 c. flour
1 lb. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Sift flour; measure and sift again.
In mixing bowl, cream butter.
Add sugar gradually; cream together until light and fluffy.
Add egg; beat well.
Add flour, a small amount at a time. Mix well.
Stir in vanilla and blend.
Press through cookie press and decorate with colored sugar or candied cherries.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 400\u00b0 for 4 to 5 minutes.
Cool on racks.
