Banana Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1 1/2 c. mashed bananas
    2 beaten eggs
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. buttermilk or 1/2 c. milk and 1 Tbsp. vinegar
    1/2 c. walnuts (optional)
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream sugar and butter until light.
    Add mashed bananas and eggs.
    Stir together the flour, soda and salt, then add to banana mixture.
    Blend thoroughly.
    Stir in the buttermilk, walnuts and vanilla.
    Pour into greased and floured loaf pan.
    (Makes 1 large loaf or 2 medium.)
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes.
