2/3 soft margarine or soft shortening
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. Gold Medal flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
6 oz. chocolate chips
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Mix thoroughly the margarine or soft shortening, granulated sugar and brown sugar; add egg and vanilla.
Stir in flour, baking soda and salt.
Mix thoroughly.
Add chocolate chips and nuts. Chill.
Then drop by rounded teaspoonfuls apart on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake until lightly browned at 375\u00b0.
Remember, cookies continue to bake on a hot cookie sheet even if removed from oven.
