Ingredients

2/3 c. sugar
1 c. unsalted butter
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/4 c. flour
Preparation

Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
In large bowl, combine all ingredients except flour.
With an electric mixer, beat at medium speed, 2 to 3 minutes, scraping bowl often, until mixture is light and fluffy. Add flour; beat at low speed, 2 to 3 minutes, scraping bowl often, until well mixed.
If dough is too soft, cover; refrigerate 30 to 45 minutes, until firm enough to form cookies.
Place dough into cookie press.
Form desired shapes 1-inch apart on cookie sheets. Bake 6 to 8 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
