Brown Bread(Date Nut Loaf) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. walnuts
    1 c. raisins
    10 oz. pkg. dates or 1/2 pkg. to your preference
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 egg
    pinch of salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 3/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Mix fruit and nuts.
    Over this pour boiling water and soda. Add sugar and egg, then flour, salt and vanilla.
    Bake slowly for 1 hour in a loaf pan, which has been greased.
    After one hour, insert knife in loaf.
    If it comes out clean, it's done.
    Bake at 225\u00b0.
    Serve with cream cheese.
